NATIVE IRON ORE POWDER Up for auction is Native Iron powder. This material collects in streambeds during rainstorms. Originally from the Iron rich mountains, the flowing water brings this down and it collects in areas where the terrain forms natural sluce beds where it deposits. This is not pure Iron but rather Iron ore. It has been painstakingly collected from dry stream beds using magnets. Once sifted it is cleaned two more times by magnetic separation. Being a natural product it is possible to find grains of sand mixed in with the Iron even after three cleanings. This material glistens in the sun. This is strongly attracted to a magnet but is not magnetic in itself. A magnet was used in the photos.It is 99%+ pure Iron ore and ideal for science demonstrations with magnets. I have used it in pyrotechnic fountains and was impressed by the rich spray of Orange sparks. I finally got the chance to try this Iron in an aerial shell and was pleased with the results. As the shell exploded the Iron Oxide ignited and burned as it fell through the air to the ground (it almost reached the ground). The effect of a myriad of Orange sparks falling through the air was quite pleasing. Also ideal for use in metaphysics. Particle size is 4 to 12 mesh, 12 to 20 mesh, 20 to 30 mesh, and 30 to 70 mesh and 70 mesh and under( whatever passes the 70 mesh screen). One pound of each for a total of five pounds.
