For Sale: 4140 Hot Rolled Heat Treated / Pre Hard Alloy Steel Bar 1 Piece; 1-1/8″ Diameter X 36″ Length 262 TO 321 Brinell Hardness Range, Diameter Tolerance +.010″ / -.010″, Length is Saw Cut +1/8″ -.000 Approx weight is 10 lbs. The picture does not necessarily represent the material that you will get but it is similar. NOTE; As Surface Condition on Outside Diameter is Hot Rolled it is NOT ADVISABLE TO TRY TO FINISH MACHINE ON SIZE FROM SIZE PURCHASED. Standard Machining Allowance must be removed off the Hot Rolled Surface Condition to be free from decarborization, seams, laps, tears or cracks and other defects exposed to the machined surfaces. Chrome Moly Alloy Steel Rounds- 4140 PH Chrome Moly alloy steel, good for many purposes. Great steel for medium wear parts. Good machinability with regular (high speed steel) cutting tools but also good wear properties and elevated tensile strength. If you make tools, molds, gages, dies, shafts, or machine parts this is a good to have around. Saves money as further heat treatment is not required.
