For sale is a new old stock #570-1980-05-01-00, Ceramic Standoff, #3-48 Mount, Turret, left behind in the electronics inventory of my late father, who was a radio, television, and other electronics technician for most of his life. He always kept a generous inventory of spare and replacement parts on hand, for speedy service repairs, ready for walk-in customers to his shop, or just available for his own electronics projects. I am guessing that these parts were left after some electronics job that he was working on. All his components were kept in a smoke-free environment. The parts are new old stock. We opened the bag to verify the count and for me to photograph the parts for you. My husband did a bit of research and measuring, and here is a bit of what he found: Description: Vintage, new old stock (NOS), insulated, ceramic standoff with silver-plated, solder-turret terminals and #3-48, threaded, mounting stud. The terminal is electrically isolated from the threaded stud. Terminals like this are typically used as connection terminals or test points on printed circuit boards. These components were from the estate of my late father, who was an electronics engineer. These parts are being sold individually; but, the first to order five (5) or more, will also receive the original Cambion-brand bag. Inventory Status: New Old Stock (NOS); open, original bag. Some parts had been removed; and, the remaining 20 pieces are being sold individually. Manufacturer:Cambridge Thermionic Corporation (Cambion brand), 445 Concord Ave., Cambridge 38, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Company History:Cambridge Thermionic Corporation (or Cambion) was organized in the 1930’s; and later produced small electronic components and hardware for the military and high-end, electronic manufacturers. Cambion next entered the global market, and in 1961, commenced manufacturing operations at Castleton, Derbyshire, England. Midland Ross acquired Cambion in 1981, and was afterward the subject of a management buyout, an acquisition, and numerous name changes. The company currently identifies as Cambion Electronics, Limited. Vintage:Probably 1960-1965 Part Number:1980-XA-250 (ink-stamped on the original Cambion package). (Same as, or similar to: 1570-1980-05-01-00) Terminal Style: Ceramic insulated, standoff with isolated, turret terminal. (Terminal is isolated from threaded, mounting stud.) Insulator: Appears to be ceramic material.Dimensions: (Shown on diagram at the end of this listing.) Length of Standoff: “A” dimension = about 0.383-inch nominal. Maximum Insulator Height: “B” dimension = about 0.227-inches nominal. Insulator Diameter: “C” dimension = about 0.145-inches nominal. Turret Shaft Diameter: “D” dimension = about 0.040-inches nominal. Turret Cap Diameter: “E” dimension = about 0.094-inches nominal. Stud Base: “F” dimension = 3/16-inch hex. Stud Length: “X” dimension = about 0.250-inches nominal. Stud Thread: “T” dimension = #3-48 thread. Mounting: About 0.250 inch long stud, with #3-48 thread. (Does not include additional hardware for mounting.) Finish: Turret terminal appears to have silver plating.
