The standard inner cover is assembled with both glue and staples. The notch on one end of the inner cover provides a means for moisture to escape the hive. The hole in the middle of the inner cover allows for feeding with jars or buckets and allows the bees to patrol the area under the telescoping cover, keeping pests such as ants out. Made in the USA
