Typeface Style. End-Grain Wood: Most of these were made fromhard rock maple. The wood was cut across the grain (end-grain) to make it incredibly durable so it wouldn’t compress under the heavy pressure of a printing press.

Nice vintage lot of 48 letter press, advertising, ink stamp blocks. The lot consist of a mix of different styles and sizes. They are made of wood, metal and copper. Cool advertising from odd fellows Towing, Bear wheel alignment, G & E, Volvo Cars, JAWS, and some faces and architecture along with some random advertising press blocks. They will need a detailed cleaning as we only gave them a wipe down. Great for arts & crafts projects for kids. Overall, in good condition.
