All boards in the Lenel M Series have been designed to facilitate the migration of legacy Picture Perfect, Facility Commander Wnx, or Secure Perfect systems to Lenels OnGuard system. The Lenel M Series boards provide a one-for-one, plug compatible, OnGuard- ready replacement for legacy CASI M5 and M3000 boards. The migration is a straightforward process of powering down the legacy controller, unplugging field wiring from legacy boards, inserting new Lenel M Series boards, plugging in field wiring, and powering up new controller which communicates to the OnGuard system. The LNL-8000-M5 is an optional replacement for the legacy CASI 8RP board (PN 110100501). The LNL-8000-M5 enables a wide range of new reader types to be connected via existing wiring. This is possible by allowing standard Lenel door controllers to communicate over existing wiring. Typical installations will involve installation of an LNL-1300 at each door, usually in place of existing MR/J or WIU boards. The LNL-1300 is installed in the existing junction box, and utilizes existing wiring both to the micro and to the reader. Once the door has been converted with the LNL-8000-M5 and the LNL-1300, a wide range of readers can be connected. Readers using the SIA OSDP protocol provide reader supervision and tamper over existing wiring, as well as the option of encrypted communications using OSDP Secure Channel encryption. Wiegand protocol readers are also supported, with a wider range of card formats and options than supported by typical F2F readers or the WIU. Using the LNL-8000-M5 also allows remote installation of other standard Lenel boards, such as the LNL-1320, LNL-1100, and LNL-1200 at up to eight separate locations. Legacy CASI M Series Boards cannot be mixed with Lenel M Series Boards. If converting M5 or M3000 controller to Lenel M Series, then all boards in that controller must be converted to Lenel M Series.
