A well-regulated and carefully monitored DC supply voltage of 9.00V (not 9.01V) is applied while FETs are allowed to stabilize for at least 5 minutes before testing. Current (Idss) and voltage (Vgs) are then measured quickly on a calibrated Agilent 34401 6-1/2 digit meter. FETs are matched in pairs to within 0.1mA Idss AND 10mV Vgs. Most eBay audio FET resellers do NOT match for BOTH Idss and Vgs.In some cases, the matching is within 0.01mA and 1mV.
