Item Description: UHMW Polyethylene Sheet .250"x12"x24" Black Color UHMW , also known as high molecular weight polyethylene. Ultra High Molecular weight polyethylene is an extremely high abrasion resistant material.UHMW resist wear . friction and corrosion and thus it cuts maintenance costs , energy consumption and extends equipment life. UHMW molecular weight ranges from 3.1 million to 100 million grams per mole , with an ideal replacement for stainless steel in transporting difficult materials .UHMW -PE has crystalline melting point of 267F (131C). Recommended maximum service is about 200F (93C) Very good wear and abrasion resistance High impact strength, even at low temperatures (particularly PE-UHMW) Excellent chemical resistance Low density compared with other thermoplastics Low coefficient of friction Excellent release properties Very low water absorption Moderate mechanical strength, stiffness and creep resistance Very good electrical insulating and dielectric properties (except static dissipative grades) Excellent machinability Physiologically inert (several grades are suitable for food contact) Good resistance to high energy radiation (gamma- and X-rays) Not self-extinguishing
