An "axle" to hold the MIG wire on the side of the welder, with tension from the spring to slow unraveling. Found most commonly on the Dual Mig 170 Harbor Freight 220v welders, but could be used on different welders. This style of "axle" was on the older Chicago Electric mig welders, before 2010, and they had a blue outer case. Different than the newer welders (after 2010) that came with a black case and bronze lettering. The older blue welders were called the MIG 131 and Dual MIG 151.
