Five Star Marine Teflon Impregnated Hydraulic Grease is the best grease for Marine Hydraulics, it's primarily Silicone Grease Impregnated with Teflon. We choose this formulation for a list of reasons, Silcone is a water proofing agent and does very well in the salt water environment where other greases shed off and dry our and cake up silicone will stay for a long time and help moisturize seals and protect them from UVs and dry rot. We choose teflon as a perfect additive because of its natural lubercating value and its resistance to salt and the UVs. Teflon has not been around long enough for scientists to know its actual shelf life is unknown because it was only discovered in 1938 by an American Scientist working for Dupont. Teflon is by far my favorite material for hydraulics for its heat resistance and chemical resistance as well as resistance to the sun and salt. For the most critical applications teflon is king. This grease can also be used in place of Dielectric grease as it is the same other than the Teflon which makes a very big difference for lubricity and sustainability in UVs. You should always keep Teflon Silicone Grease on your trim and tilt unit and steering rams as well as your power polls and or jack plate. This material is is hydro-phobic and will keep marine lift from calcifying and latching onto the substrate of the rams and seals.
